Circle details USDC revenue split, says $819M went to partners and costs in H1 2026
Why it matters: Here's the deal. Circle kept only 7 cents of each revenue dollar as net profit. It paid 59 cents to USDC partners and transaction costs and 34 cents on licenses, banking and other infra. That is a distribution business wearing a tech multiple costume. If you want USDC everywhere, you pay everyone who carries it.
Market Snapshot
Bitcoin held near $81k and Ethereum near $2.4k while total market cap fell about 4%. Bitcoin share sits barely higher, so this is risk-off with majors holding up better and bounces need fresh inflows to stick.
Narratives Snapshot
No headline today clearly explains the pullback in Quantum-Resistant and ZK names. It looks like rotation or momentum with broad selling and no single clear catalyst.
Alpha Spotlight
Oil · USO
Oil led the majors at 8.7% this week.
Oil is a macro inflation signal. Its 8.7% weekly move likely reflects tighter growth or supply expectations, which matters because rates, dollar strength, and liquidity still drive crypto beta.
What Prediction Markets Think
Bettors see 79% odds Bitcoin holds $80k but only 45% odds it reclaims $82k. That is hope for stability without belief in strength.

Predict & Earn →5 Changes That Matter

1 Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire detailed the USDC split: $819M went to partners and costs in H1 2026.
If partner payouts stay near 59 cents in the H2 disclosure, that would support the read that scale has not fixed margins yet.

2 Circle plans to enter about 40 developing markets as stablecoin demand grows.
This is pure distribution rather than speculative hype. Phones first in Southeast Asia, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East run on dollars when local money wobbles. USDC holds about 25% of that market, so new rails could add real payment volume. The catch is yesterday's math. More partners can mean more volume with the same thin cut.
Watch for named launch dates or partner logos in Southeast Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. Without them, treat this as distribution talk.

3 Coinbase will power stablecoin-backed cards for Marqeta customers.
Cards are where crypto stops being an app and starts being money. Marqeta already issues for big fintechs, so Coinbase plugs stablecoins into rails people already tap. For users it means spend without a separate off ramp. For Coinbase it means flow and fees from everyday buys, not just trading days.
If Marqeta names live card programs with settlement in stablecoins, that would support real payment volume rather than a pilot headline.

4 Strategy faces possible removal from MSCI indexes under finalized rules for digital asset treasuries.
Index membership matters because passive funds must own what the index owns. A deletion forces those funds to sell whether they like Bitcoin or not. That turns a stock rule change into crypto selling pressure by proxy. Metaplanet is in the same screen, so this is a sector-wide test instead of an isolated company story.
If MSCI confirms Strategy as a November deletion, that would support forced selling from index trackers around the rebalance.

5 Strive wants another $130M from SATS stock sales to buy more Bitcoin, on top of a $500M IPO plan.
Treasury firms now raise equity to buy Bitcoin the way miners sell equity to dig it. It works while the stock trades at a premium. It breaks when the premium fades and each sale buys less coin per share. The real test is whether investors keep funding the buying spree.
If Strive files pricing terms for the $130M sale, that would show what premium investors still pay for Bitcoin exposure through equity.
Risk Map
01 Greed cools as breadth thinsFear and Greed sits at 55 after an 8 point daily drop. That is relief, not fear, so dips can still get sold. Total cap fell about 4% while Bitcoin share held near 59%; when breadth thins like that, one large seller hits harder. |
02 Hardware supply chain trust wobbleReports of tampered Ledgers from authorized resellers raise the cost of self custody mistakes. Probably contained, but 2022 started as probably nothing too. |
VIEW Bottom lineThe read: buyers are picky because margins are thin and breadth is weak while Bitcoin holds the line. That flips if Circle shows partner costs falling and total market cap stabilizes for 3 straight days. |
